Our team of affiliates are among the very best in their fields and include preservationists, architects, design historians, interior design professionals, and contractors. Our capabilities extend to 360-degree historic tax credit assistance, including the preparation and filing of legal documents, accounting support, and liaison representation to state and federal agencies for the development and implementation of commercial plans or residential projects.

The Heartland Historic Homes team works within the guidelines of the National Park Service criteria for the restoration of historic places. It is the mantra of true preservationists to “do no harm” and we live by that philosophy. Team members harmonize modern construction techniques and materials with historic methodology while maintaining an unwavering commitment to job site safety and OSHA codes. We carefully monitor every aspect of the work to make sure it is in line with approved National Park Service plans and completed to the satisfaction of funding agencies. A property, magnificently restored by Heartland Historic Homes, is destined to be a source of pride for the owner and a historic touchstone that will stand strong for future generations to enjoy.

Our architectural and interior design division, Flint Hall Interiors, specializes in historic style for modern living. We are internationally known and acclaimed for our design work, but beyond that, we are design historians. Flint Hall Interiors professionals work with clients from the very earliest phases of a project in an effort to preserve the existing historic property while integrating any new commercial or residential requirements. Our designers work in tandem with team architects as the plan goes through multiple revisions to satisfy National Park Service Standards, the new property usages, and the client’s expectations.

With 35 years of experience, our team curates architectural details, fixtures, wallpaper and surface finishes, custom and historical textiles and drapery, antiques, lighting, flooring, art and furnishings for a historically based interior. We are particularly proud of our expertise in the couture fabrication of curtains and upholstery, for a truly custom look. Flint Hall Interiors specializes in period style from the 17th through the 20th century, and spanning the continents, but often includes modern design elements for practicality, aesthetic juxtaposition, or to express the personal style of the client.
